The 5th annual Michigan Pirate Festival will be held on August 8th - 14th, 2011 in  downtown Grand Haven again this year! There is no doubt that this fest will be the biggest, best, pirate event in Michigan to date!

Discussion Series Details:

 

Pirates of the Revolution - Bartholomew BlackHeart explains how important pirates were to the Colonies during the American Revolution.

 

Sir Francis Drake - Gaston gives a discussion of the Golden Admiral and how he was the terror of the Caribbean for the Spanish.

 

Cannon demo in the Park - Tony Osterberg and Hookah Joe demonstrate how to fire a cannon in Central Park.

 

Pirate Meet & Greet with grub - Jaqueline hosts a meet and greet to introduce some of the pirates for informal discussions. The pirates are even bringing the snacks!

 

Women Pirates - Admiral Morgan leads a discussion explaining the role of women in pirates and talks about some of the most famous women pirates in history.

 

Pirate Weapons - Hookah Joe loves to show off the armory and explain how pirates used various types of weapons in their travels.

 

Captain Hook - Andrea Jones provides an in-depth look at the one and only Captain Hook.

 

Pirate Games - Captain Barbanegra provides demonstrations of the games that were played aboard ships during the Golden Age of Piracy.

 

Hook & Jill - Andrea Jones, the author of "Hook & Jill" will give this discussion.
