Meet Our Director of Photography
Dolphin Danie: I was born on the island of Mauritius, off the coast of Africa, near Madagascar. My parents were stranded after a shipwreck and lived in the abandoned Dutch colony. We became a friendly port for pirates as long as they minded their behavior. I was always found to be swimming with the dolphins and exploring in my favorite cove. I also watched all the visitors and secretly learned a few things about shooting. Sometimes, when nobody was looking, I liked to shoot the cannon that was left in the fort and scare everyone! My papa became friends with Count d'Booty who taught us how to sword fight and fire our flintlocks to help protect us from those that would try to do harm. Soon, we decided to sign as crew to the Wild Irish Rose which took us to the Caribbean. Something happened with our captain and our family jumped ship. Thankfully, our friend, Count d'Booty had a ship in drydock and some plans for a new crew and asked us to sign on the Lusty Rose. Because of my proficiency with shooting a cannon, I was given the job of Master Gunner aboard ship!
